This page is list of links to pages that describe pre-requisites for enabling a plugin to monitor and manage resources. Depending on the resource type, you may need to:

  • Supply values of configuration options in the "Configuration Properties" section of its Inventory page in the Hyperic user interface. For instance, you might need to specify:
    • Credentials required to access resources, or
    • Connection URL for the managed product statistics facility from which the agent will obtain resource metrics.
  • Configure a behavior of the managed product itself. For instance you might need to configure the managed product to:
    • Accept remote connections, or
    • Make a particular level of statistics available.

The configuration requirements for a resource type are defined by the plugin developer in the XML descriptor for the plugin. Configuration requirements can be specified for each resource type managed by a plugin, but typically are defined at the server level, not the service level.

Click a link below to view the configuration help specified by the plugin developer for the resource types managed by the plugin. If there are no configuration requirements specified in a plugin's XML descriptor, the plugin does not appear in the list.
